HEALING PROCESS: HEALING WEEKEND

I went to an incredible retreat this weekend. 25 women from Celebration Northwest gathered in Burnet. God intentionally brought each woman to this place to encourage her, give her vision, strength and fill her up as she took just 24 hours to stop and listen.

The Lord brought beautiful Sharon Patterson to share her heart and her life. Sharon has an incredible gift of story telling. She paints a vivid picture of her experience with the healing process over several decades and invites you into process.

The key to retreat is taking the time to be silent with God. The key to retreat is listening so that you can receive REVELATION: the revelation I had this weekend was I needed to forgive myself and that I believe that the blood of Jesus covered my sin past, present and future. The TRUTH is I am under grace all of me. The LIE: the blood does not cover my choices.

The next step is FORGIVENESS. For us to be able to actively receive revelation from God and have it be power in our lives we must FORGIVE those that have hurt us. Forgiveness is like stepping through a door way enabling us to continue on the journey that God intended for us to be on. The hurts that happen to us come from two sources. PEOPLE and EVENTS. We must forgive the people that have hurt us and release them to be a blessing. When we can trust God enough to be obedient in forgiveness, it is like stepping through a doorway to the rest of your life.

This was a difficult one for me because I have done a lot of forgiving and why, why am I still frozen? The revelation for me this weekend was that I had not forgiven myself and was not able to move forward in the healing process.

Next step LANCING. We are hurt, God allows scabs to form because the hurt is SO big that we are not ready to deal with the healing at first. The Lord lets the scab happen and prepares us for the healing. When it is time, when we are listening, and we have forgiven...now we are ready for the scab to come off and for the Lord to press that infection out. OH...it IS painful, but necessary. The truth is sometimes the painful part, penetrating into the past hurt, but the mercy comes as the Lord holds us in His embrace as he presses out ALL the stinky nasty glop , and when we trust Him to do this, it is finished, we are in a place to heal, completely.

Next step REST. Healing is exhausting. After the hurt has been surgically removed it is time to recover and rest. Allow the healing balm of God's word nurse you back into wholeness.

Probably the most important step is HEALING WITH FILLING. The holes in our heart are the areas that need to be healed. We go through the process of removing the hurt but it has been there for a long time so there is often a cavity where the "Goo Goo" has been. As Sharon puts it "you must fill the wholes in your soul" with peace. The best way to do this is invoving your self with a group, finding that one friend you can call and count on, a life coach that lines up with the word, that will help you find purpose in your wounding.

The final step in the healing process is FALLING OUT OF AGREEMENT with VOWS AND JUDGMENTS. Any time you might have said, "I will NEVER be like... " or "I won't be like..." you must release your control, because you KNOW and especially now that you are surrendering to be in the healing process, GOD is IN CONTROL.

Thank you Sharon for bringing me the TRUTH and wrapping me up in God's MERCY I cannot wait to be with you in a healing space again!

Stepping Out of Fear

Last night the women of Celebration church BROUGHT it. God is so amazing how he shows up. I have AGAIN been bogged down in fear. Frozen in mire, unable to step out of my situation and let Jesus step in. FEAR of the things I do not have control of...marriage, finances, children. Prisicilla's words Sunday morning lifted me up. God has gone before and set the velocity of my life. Life is coming my way and I am afraid, relationships, mistakes, illness, being alone, I am treading water and so tired, but the truth is God is not going to give me more than I can handle. I know the truth an it has and will continue to set me free.  I am filled with the spirit, the very authority that Jesus has handed me through the Holy Spirit, but I am too weary, too weary to command the enemy to back off. What is wrong with me...this does not feel like me. Sunday morning the LOVER of my soul wooed me with words of truth/encouragement. Listening to Priscilla's annointed message...are you the one in...

New Leaf

Been going through so much since my last post. Why is it you see where you are supposed to go but it is so hard to get there. The obstacles have been very heavy. Laying them down daily, but as I to surrender the deep wounds in my heart it just does not stop. I am in agreement. Take these things Lord but as they begin to surface it is very very hard, a festering mess of healing. This is what healing looks like. Well my usual response is, no way. I thought I wanted to go there but maybe next week. Very similar to other good things I want to do for myself. I want to let go of caffine, sugar and alcohol for 30 days but as soon as I get started the fear of letting go of the crutch sinks in. How will I get by without my daily cup of joe or that glass of wine in the evening and the countless moments I have with sugar and salt during the day. So today I surrender all of that and pray that you cleanse me Lord and I am ready for anything.
